We’re losing all the good people this year.

Dave was one of the first big people I got to know when I started going to rallies. He was always super nice, and I remember a couple times when I was just hanging out waiting for this to get going, he’d see me, sit down with me, and strike up a conversation. I wasn’t even a co-driver yet back then, I was just a random fan/volunteer/crew member.

What!? What the F?!? Jeez, that’s sad. Seemed like a hell of a good guy when I saw him at rallies, always smiling, goofing off on bikes. RIP, man. I feel awful for his family, just horrible.

I had a close buddy try to off himself, thankfully unsuccessfully. I saw him hours before and we were having a good time. Everything seemed fine and I had no clue something was up until I heard he was in the hospital. My takeaway was that if you’re ever feeling depressed, get professional help or tell someone. Your friends and family may not notice, or chalk it up to something minor, even if they care a whole lot about you.
